"Social Dilemma" Film Screening and Panel Discussion

This free event is being hosted, in part, by the U.S. Embassy to New Zealand.

“The rise of social media companies like Facebook, TikTok, and X/Twitter has reshaped modern life, especially for young adults. What may not be widely known is the serious psychological underpinnings of these platforms and the subtle manipulation techniques they utilize are closely connected to a growing number of problems in society. The highly acclaimed film, “The Social Dilemma” dives into the consequences of our growing dependence on social media and reveals how social media is reprogramming society with tech experts sounding the alarm on their own creations.”
