Planetarium show + Brain Play 3D robotic claw session

Join Brain Play after your Stardome show to have a go at making a robotic claw!

You’ll create a tension controlled claw from laser cut components. You’ll be able to use your claw to collect ‘samples,’ just like the Curiosity rover collects from Mars with its robotic claw, or to manipulate objects, just like scientists use on the International Space Station!

Older attendees that finish quickly will have the opportunity to refine their design to be better at picking up different objects, while younger attendees will work with parents/siblings to finish and test their claw.

Please note, each family will build one claw. Unfortunately, participants won’t be able to take their claw home due to the high cost of acquiring these, and to ensure they can continue to be used for our various STEM courses!

Adult: $17.50 each
Child/Senior: $15.00 each
Starlight Explorer Adult: $8.75 each
Starlight Explorer Child: $7.50 each
Total duration of planetarium show + Brain Play session is 90 minutes. Children 14 and under must be accompanied by an adult for the duration of the session. Recommended for age 5+.
