Sione Tuìvailala Monū: Stories features a programme of screenings by international artists which extends the exhibition’s ideas about identity and story-telling in the digital age.

Amalia Ulman (Argentina) creates work which often blurs the distinction between herself and the object of study, creating humorous, gentle deceptions while exploring class imitation and the relationship between consumerism and identity. Always pushing the boundaries of performance, her fictional narratives often take place in unexpected platforms—such as Instagram.

Join us from a screening of El Planeta (2021), the story of a mother and daughter who bluff and grift to keep up the lifestyle they think they deserve.

This screening will be introduced by the artist and writer Vanessa Mei Crofskey.
