Oral literacy and playful storytelling professional development workshop with Evelyn Davis

Oral storytelling strengthens relationships, fosters oral literacy and empowers children to find their own voices as storytellers as well. We will talk about known and improvised stories.

The workshop will include information about numerous different way to tell stories, including tabletop puppets, play-dough, book-making and helicopter storytelling.

Evelyn is an experienced felting artist and is also a storyteller and an early childhood teacher with a background in Steiner education. Evelyn offers safe, fun, practical and interactive experiences that will inspire you to play with storytelling in a variety of ways and contexts in a normal ECE day. We will support each other to find our own storytelling voices. Storytelling is very like the way, over a cup of tea, we tell our friends the latest stories of events in our lives!

All you need is just a little imagination, a willingness to take risks and the desire to have fun. Useful and informative handouts will be emailed to participants afterwards. So you won’t need to take notes!! Yay!!
"We are all natural storytellers and the only obstacle is the voice in our heads that says that can’t possibly be true." - Nancy Mellon
