Stringendo - Wellington Children's Orchestra

Stringendo is a training orchestra for school age string players. It was formed in 2015 by Donald Maurice and Rupa Maitra. The focus of Stringendo is to develop young string players with sight reading and ensemble music making skills and most importantly to play beautiful music (often from the Baroque period!) Stringendo is a cost neutral organisation open to any school age students who are around grade 3 level practical music or above. Since 2022 Alex Vaatstra and Hilary Ferral have been directing the group.

On the 8th November Stringendo will perform a programme of largely Baroque music including works by Handel, Corelli and Vivaldi.
