Join Friends of Taipari Strand and Motu Manawa - Pollen Island Restoration Group in a Saturday morning local community event to celebrate nine years of Auckland Council-supported volunteer environmental care in beautiful Taipari Strand on the western edge of Te Atatu Peninsula. The pest plant removal (gorse, privet, wattle) and substitute native restoration planting activities at this event will help boost the original towai tree coastal estuary habitat for native flora and fauna in this previously neglected upper Waitemata Harbour coastal ecosystem, which has amazingly survived highly intensive urban development around us.

Where: Please email to RSVP and receive directions and health & safety information. motumanawa@gmail.com

Who: General public with a reasonable level of fitness. Suitable for ages 7+ (all children must be kept under strict parental supervision).

What to bring: Sturdy covered shoes or gumboots, weather protection (sun or rain), bottle of water. Bring pruning saws, secateurs, gardening gloves if you have them. We will have some spades available and all native plants supplied.
