Always wanted to use a worm farm or bokashi bin but don’t know how? Interested to learn how to create nutritious compost at home or simply need a refresher? Join Tauranga City Council's 2-hour workshop to learn about the different options available and what will work best for your household.

You will learn the ins and outs of worm farming, how to use bokashi bins correctly through fermentation, and we will briefly discuss composting as an option. All options will teach you to turn your food scraps into “liquid gold and/or nutrient-rich compost” for your plants.

Upon completion of the workshop, you'll receive a $100 voucher from a selected supplier towards purchasing your own worm farm and worms, bokashi bin, or compost bin.

There will also be a lucky draw where you will stand a chance to win one of the demo kits from the day.

Please note, this workshop is only open to Tauranga City Council residents, with a limit of one voucher per household. This workshop is different to previously run workshops where the worm farm was supplied on the day. Tauranga residents now have access to a residential food scraps service and optional garden waste collection for managing their household food scraps and garden waste, however we are still keen to support those who would like to manage their organic waste at home.
