As part of the Te Kawa a Maui exhibition taking place on the 10th June we are running multiple workshops that align to Maori Astronomy during this Matariki week.
This workshop is delivered by Tohunga Whakairo Dr Takirirangi Smith who will be discussing the legends of ‘Maui’ and its association to; Maori Astronomy & Tikanga and kawa practices. This is a presentation approach workshop to hear from a real life Tohunga, who is inviting the public to broaden their engagement of the natural world (Aotearoa) and further understanding the true meanings behind the Maui stories.
This is a free workshop and is open to the public. A one off workshop. Limited to 30 seats only.
