"A Guide to the Bodhisattva's Way of Life" is one of the great Buddhist classics composed by Shantideva, an Indian Buddhist master of Nalanda University. As Shantideva himself wrote, everything that the Buddha taught was for the sake of wisdom. Mental afflictions such as attachment and detachment create struggles for us because they set up false expectations; when our understanding aligns with how things actually are, we are liberated. This is why developing wisdom is crucial to awakening.
Our spiritual director Za Choeje Rinpoche will be continuing his long running teaching series on the wisdom chapter of this work, but attendance at prior sessions is not necessary to benefit from the teachings. The wisdom chapter is written mostly as a debate between various schools of philosophy against the highest philosophical system of the Middle Way school. Drawing on more than a decade of traditional intensive philosophy studies at Drepung Loseling Monastery, Rinpoche will guide us with his accessible teaching style.
These teachings will be available through livestreaming on our Facebook page as well.
