'The Five' is an exhibition of five professional New Zealand women working in glass. Brought to Riverside Gallery in conjunction with Glass Art in NZ, the exhibition runs Friday to Monday from October 14th to November 20th.
The five featured artists are Evelyn Dunstan, Carmen Simmonds, Karin Barr, Kate Cornwall and Heather Kremen. A total of 25 works will be on display with sold works being replaced by new works as the exhibition progresses. These sculptural works demonstrate various techniques of glass making from casting through to glass blowing, with many using the lost-wax technique to create complex forms.
Riverside Gallery is a small destination gallery located amongst the vines in Bannockburn, Cromwell, alongside the Lake Dunstan Cycle Trail. The gallery showcases artful objects including art glass, ceramics, handmade jewellery and garden sculptures from various NZ artisans.
