The Five Studies Showcase provides five very talented gallery artists (see attached) with an opportunity to present the same subject matter but in two different ways. Each study presents a deeper narrative than a single composition can provide.
Sandra Barlow treats us to an intriguing reverse parallax view via wing mirrors. Rebecca Dowman-Ngapo shows a remarkable time-lapse view of Hamilton’s Garden Place. Chris Greenslade presents a country road in Torrelodones, an area north-west of Madrid that also features a bell, a bell-tower and a stranger. These are references to the Spanish composer Enrique Granados whose work Sketches includes a work entitled The Evening Bell. In the spirit of adventure, Kirsten McIntosh takes us on a stunning journey in time across Lake Rotoiti, St. Arnaud. Finally, Hong Cumming has provided an emotional narrative around Sapper Horace Moore-Jones whose statue on Victoria St. Hamilton celebrates his role as a first world war artist.
