The exhibition The Glory of Print: a Celebration of Printing Specimens from Gutenberg Onwards features a wide range of continental European and English printed books and leaves, showcasing the progression of printing history in Europe from 1450 to 1800.
The highlight – and first point - is the Gutenberg Bible leaf, printed about 1455. Other examples follow, with works by printer-publishers Schöffer, Plantin, Aldus, and Elzevir.
A number of 19th and 20th century publications offer a contrast to the early samples.
