A fun quiz evening with wine. You'll learn about wine, tasting and who produces it, where it is produced and why.

Your host: Michael Campbell, born in Belfast, started his career in the wine business in 1982 working for Winemark. Then, after managing two of the chain’s stores he went to work for Guinness Northern Ireland looking after the company’s wine portfolio where Corbans was one of the company’s agencies. Michael and his wife Mary emigrated to New Zealand in 1993 and Michael worked or Corbans in Christchurch for the next 7 years, organising the Corbans Wine and Food Challenge 5 years in a row.

From 2006 to 2008 Michael was GM of Waipara Winegrowers where he organised two Waipara Wine and Food Challenges, represented Waipara at the Good Food and Wine Show in Sydney and twice at the London Wine Trade Fair and at the Christchurch Wine and Food Festival in Dorset, Southern England. Michael and Mary have three grown-up boys, one of whom lives in Adelaide, which is very pleasing as Michael can go visit wine regions while visiting his son.

Michael holds a Master’s degree in Marketing Management and the Wine and Spirit Educational Trust Certificate and Higher Certificate and he completed half of the WSET Diploma before emigrating.
Apart from that Michael has taught in the School of Business at Ara and held other educational and health leadership roles over the last 20 years.
