Based on a true life event, this play takes place in June 1967, eight months after the Aberfan disaster in Wales.
Where approximately 150000 tons of coal waste slipped down the mountain side after heavy rain killing 144 people. 116 of them were children.
The play is set in the function room of the local pub where local women meet regularly to share their grief as a form of therapy.
During one of their meetings we meet Sian,Jean,Marilyn and Rona who have secretly arranged for ‘The Revlon Girl’ to come and give a presentation of her products. To provide not only a distraction but also to help them feel better about themselves and not feel guilty about doing so.
Unraveling each of the characters stories has enabled our actresses to understand and empathise with their characters and bring them to life.
Come and see Maddy Klever, Shae Trownson, Suzy Adair, Kijiana Pene and Kaila Le Maitre portray these women and hear their stories.
This play has been described as shocking and heart breaking yet funny and uplifting. Well worth seeing.
