Celebrating Hawke’s Bay’s locally grown music in our local halls, on this, our first night, we bring you three extraordinary artists.
First up tonight we have Ella Pollett - Ella Pollett is a 17 year old singer songwriter with her roots in the Matapiro community. In 2021 and 2022, Ella was the winner of the prestigious Rockquest competition and has the opportunity to and several large scale events in HB, culminating most recently with being an opening act for Rod Stewart.
Theresa Trull is a fiery haired vocal dynamo who combines a gutsy blues/rock style, top notch songwriting talents and sharp producing instincts in her many high energy projects. She has made five of her own recordings, including two successful duo pairings both with Higbie and with Cris Williamson (Country Blessed 1990). An accomplished producer of over 30 albums, Trull was named the Best Producer of an Independent Album at the New York Music Awards. She has performed and shared stages with Sheila E., David Sanborn, Joan Baez and many others. “Teresa Trull is absolutely magnificent.” (San Francisco Chronicle/Examiner)
Stretch Much loved by audiences in Hawke’s Bay and around the country Stretch captivates audiences with his engaging banter and soulful, heartfelt songs. With the incredible cellist Paula Sugden coaxing worlds of melody from her 300-year-old cello, and Andrew Gladstone bringing his atmospheric approach to his vintage drum-kits, there is a chemistry and passion that sets their shows alight. This sound has seen Stretch open for some of the world’s greatest acts; Neil Finn, Jeff Tweedy, Cyndi Lauper and Elton John! His albums have gone Top-10 in the NZ Music charts, played to sold out audiences across the country.
With three great musical acts, a bar offering local wines & beer, inexpensive wholesome meals, and the comradery of your local community this will be a night to gather together and celebrate what is wonderful about Hawke’s Bay.
