Wellington Punjabi Women's Association Inc, with the support of Wellington City Council, is going to present the biggest Baisakhi Mela in Wellington to date. The date held for this fair will be 9th April, Sunday and the venue will be Michael Follower Center and the time will be from 11:30 am to 6 pm. Wellington Punjabi Women's Association has organized many successful community events in the past and this event will be the biggest community event ever organized by this organization.
The Punjabi team members of the organization have proved that no one can separate Punjab and Punjabiyat from their hearts despite being thousands of miles away from their own country.
The fair will not only be an occasion for festivities and gathering of people, but will also showcase the creative splendor, zest for life and colorful cultural traditions of the people of India, especially Punjab.
The main attraction of the fair will be the trendiest group of colorful Sardars these days.
Which is coming from Punjab to spread the colors of Punjabi cultural varieties.
Apart from Wellington's local dance schools, Sanjh Sport Club Auckland and Punjabi Heritage Dance Academy Auckland are bringing their colorful and diverse performances. Without dhol, there is no color of the fair and special colors of dhol will also be seen.
Apart from clothing and jewelery stalls, there will also be various food stalls.
