The 2023 Whangarei Open will be held on Saturday 25 November. There will be two sections:
- Schools players in the morning (8.30-12, free entry)
- Open section in the afternoon (12-6.30pm, $10 entry).
Stronger school players are welcome to enter in both sections.

Both sections will use Swiss tournament rules, meaning you mostly play others at your level, with five rounds for School players (15 minutes per player) and six rounds for Open players (25 minutes per player).

Door open from 8am, please arrive in time to sign in before briefings at 8.20am for 8.30 start (Schools) and 12.20pm for 12.30 start (Open).

Venue location: Whangarei Bridge Club, far end of North Street off Maunu Road just east of the western bypass intersection. Drinks will be provided, please bring your own food or there are good options at the bakery across Maunu Road.

Trophies will be presented to the first placed player in each section. There is no prize money - I keep this tournament simple so the entry cost is free for school players and low for adults. This tournament is not rated.

If you have any questions - or you enter and later find you can't attend - please contact Greg at 021 0893 0760 or gregwaite@mail.com.
