To mark an auspicious beginning of the East Asian lunar new year, our spiritual director Za Choeje Rinpoche will lead us in the practice of White Tara, the female Buddha symbolising swift enlightened compassion in action relating to longevity. Tara practice in general brings us wisdom and clarity to see and overcome inner obstacles and outer dangers. It also helps us to be successful in accomplishing the spiritual and worldly benefits swiftly. With practice we will find ways to transform our fears and enables us to protect self and others fearlessly. White Tara represents the purified and balanced wind (life force) element, hence her association with long life. Long life here means not just literal years of life, but a life lived in a meaningful, beneficial way.
The practice will be followed by a long life noodles lunch offered by the centre as an auspicious celebratory meal. If possible, please bring your own bowls and cutlery for the noodle soup. You are welcome to bring other food to share if you'd like.
