On July 7th, join us at St Georges Restaurant in Havelock North for the first Hawkes Bay - Women on Top event. We're thrilled to have Co-founder Jo Cummins from the amazing brand 'Girls Get Off' joining us for a night of laughter, games, and giveaways. Our favourite Rachel Taane will be the MC, bringing her incredible energy to the event.
Our chosen cause for the evening is Mates4Life Hawke’s Bay (M4LHB), a suicide awareness and prevention program delivered across Hawke’s Bay. Mates4Life aims to provide long-term, sustainable training specific to the needs of workplaces and communities in the region. Created by and delivered by Hawke’s Bay people, the program is focused on supporting the community and breaking down barriers.
At Women on Top, we provide an open and non-judgmental space for people to share their stories. We support real and diverse experiences, including survival, success, challenges, heartbreak, recovery, business, motherhood, choosing not to be a mother, art, food, music, social justice, love, self-worth, self-love, change, and more.
Let's meet our incredible guest speakers:
Korrin Barrett:
Diagnosed with ulcerative colitis in 2012, Korrin discovered her inner resilience during a gruelling journey that included months in the hospital. As a New Zealand-based keynote speaker, she shares her story of survival, emphasizing gratitude, a positive mindset, and unwavering determination. Korrin's journey, which involved amputations of her legs and hands, is an inspiration to others to overcome obstacles and live without limits.
Gina Linnell & Beth Elstone:
Gina is a seasoned professional in the Aotearoa music industry with over 16 years of experience. Based in Hawkes Bay, she wears multiple hats as a Music Manager, Promoter, and Agent, working on events throughout the country. Beth, the founder of 'Littlestone' event management company, is known for her remarkable talent in managing people and organizing events. Together, they are making waves and leaving a lasting impact on the local and national event scene.
Hana Montaperto-Hendry:
Hana, with a diverse heritage, embodies strength, determination, and creativity. Her upbringing empowered her to explore diverse interests, and despite facing challenges, she propelled forward. As a teen mom, she found inspiration to succeed. Together with her partner, she founded Saorsa, a wine brand reflecting their shared beliefs and values. Hana's journey inspires others to embrace their unique qualities and pursue their passions with conviction.
