Wood Workshop Series for Women

Our 'Plantastic' wood workshop series is perfect for beginners who are interested in making something functional to take home, a gift for Christmas or even donate to a good cause. Our small class sizes will not only give you the opportunity to learn and practise useful techniques and skills, it will build your confidence to have a go at other projects at home.

You will learn how to build the planter box from palings, though the design could also be adapted to make use of other wood such as pallets. Tools and machinery available include the circular saw, drop saw, bench saw, drills, electric planes, brad nailer, and sanders. Techniques include measuring and cutting to length, rebates (aka rabbets), drilling and fixings, butted and mitred joints. You can even take home the plans to build more.
