Cast glass workshop - small vessels 3d - lost wax casting

Join us for an exciting hands-on glass casting workshop where you'll learn the mesmerizing art of creating small vessels in 3d using the lost wax casting technique. This in-person event will take place at 800 degrees glass st oswald's rd, greenlane, auckland, new zealand. Discover the secrets of transforming molten glass into stunning, intricate designs under the guidance of our t instructor. Unleash your creativity and take home your very own unique glass masterpiece. Don't miss this opportunity to dive into the world of glass casting and explore your artistic side!

The workshop will be 2.5 days, 13, 14 and 21st. The weekend will be concentrating on imbuing your wax vessel using sheet wax and other modelling effects using tools which can be available at the workshop. Note: 13 and 14 will be creating your wax model and investing and steaming out your mould and selecting the glass ready for kiln loading. Moulds will be fired and students will return the following saturday, 21st to demould their new creations and learn some very basic coldworking techniques using diamond tools and wet and dry sandpaper.

To secure your place on this exciting workshop, a 50% deposit is required of the total fee $350 per glass and up to half kg of gaffer crystal for this workshop to make your vessel. Price per participant is $350.00 per person (50% deposit is $175.00 to secure you place). Balance of payment by 9 january 2024)

Please bring your own tools for carving and cutting, and face masks and gloves. Wear closed in shoes and comfortable clothing. Light refreshments provided by byo lunch.
