Connect Four features art by four people: paintings by Elisabeth Carter, artworks by Julie Dann and pottery by Murray Rainey, who all live in Coromandel, and work by the late Gary Tricker, a painter and printmaker who became prominent in the 1970s.

Gary Tricker was described as “New Zealand’s best” by his friend Barry Brickell, of Driving Creek Railway fame, when it came to his trains.
Elisabeth Carter paints in a variety of mediums. The vibrancy of her work brings landscapes, flowers and portraits to life.

Murray Rainey believes art is about expressive intent. His stunning pottery is also functional, "so typically has a use".
Julie Dann has a passion for capturing seascapes in her own unique style and delves into the world of abstract.

As well as work by each of the artists, smaller items, such as greeting cards, ceramics and hand screen-printed t-shirts, will be available. Be sure to include the Connect Four show when you are in Coromandel town.
