The Ridge Track and Mangakawa Track at Morere take 3 – 3 ½ hrs to walk. There are 5 stream crossings, so this would need to be postponed if there had been a lot of recent rain. There are lots of steps both up & down. Lovely bush & birdsong. It costs $3 to walk the tracks (charged because of the secure parking facility and toilets provided, and to assist with pest trap maintenance costs) and $14 for a soak in a hot pool. The Morere Hot Pools are expected to reopen in May. Visitors are welcome, contact Gillian 027 645 6880
