Gravel and Tar

Come along to the Ashhurst Village Centre and watch our local, national and invited international professional cyclists start the eighth edition of the UCI Gravel and Tar. There’ll be two events starting – the men’s Classic and the women’s La Femme. After the start, find a good viewing spot on the course where you may see the cyclists racing past more than once, or on one of the challenging climbs where the teams are working to get their top riders into a winning position. With good planning, you’ll then be able to drive back to Ashhurst to see the sprint finish and how each team got on. The Gravel and Tar has become known as “one of the toughest events on the Oceania calendar” and we’re lucky to have the only UCI race of its type here in the Manawatu.
