Innovate Napier is back for 2024.

Join us for networking and a boxed breakfast at MTG's Century Therate and hear ANZ Chief Economist Sharon Zollner's Economic Pulse Check and insights into navigating 2024.

The cost of living and business is top of mind and will be no different in 2024. Some will say we have a challenging year ahead.

Sharon is a forecaster, modeller, and commentator who informs better decision-making. She specialises in communicating economic topics in an accessible way.

Her guiding principle is that while economic forecasting is inherently pretty challenging, economists can help businesses and individuals see themselves in the bigger picture of the forces shaping the economy, and appreciate risks and opportunities that may entail

A busy mum of two teenage boys, Sharon also enjoys running and learning languages. She grew up on a farm near Methven, and holds a Master of Commerce from the University of Canterbury. She started her career at the Reserve Bank of New Zealand in 1998, and has also worked at the central bank of Norway. She moved to the New Zealand banking sector in 2006. She joined the ANZ economics team in 2010 and became Chief Economist in late 2017. Sharon manages a team of six around New Zealand.

Sharon is in Napier, thanks to ANZ. Innovate Napier is brought to you by Napier Port, Napier City Council and Napier City Business Inc.
