KĀPITI CELEBS brings together the Kāpiti Coast’s distinguished mid-career and senior performing artists for this unique mid-winter variety concert.

The event is dedicated to the memory of Paekakariki resident, the late Sir Jon Trimmer, who was a key supporter and founding patron of Te Raukura ki Kāpiti.

The concert features Kāpiti mayor & cellist Janet Holborow who performs in The Crimson Club playing their signature cabaret style music.

Michelle Scullion is a well known Kāpiti composer and flautist, who has created a special composition in memory of Sir Jon Trimmer.

Gilbert Haisman, a talented, eccentric and well known Paekakariki jazz pianist brings a unique stage presence to the afternoon’s entertainment.

MC Jan Bolwell, is director of Crows Feet Dance Collective, and her Kāpiti Crows dancers perform some of their most popular dances.

Marion Sherley’s mature dance exercisers strut their stuff, and Wellington guest artist Margaret Austin tells us how she transformed from a Palmerston North Sunday school teacher to a scantily clothed dancer at the Folie Bergère in Paris.

The entertainment lineup is completed with theatre luminary Sunny Amey who makes surprising cameo appearances throughout the show.
