Stemming from his background in classical, heavy metal and West African Highlife, NZ Nigerian artist Mazbou Q's particular brand of Hiphop pushes the boundaries of the genre and captivates those with a deep appreciation for musicality. Taking inspiration from the likes of Fela Kuti, The Roots and Black Star, he confronts his listeners with socio-political commentary and creatively engages them in the complexities of his unique cultural identity.

Also known as ‘The Rap Scientist’ across social media, Mazbou Q’s theory-based framework for the analysis of rap flow has gained popularity in both industry and academic circles alike. Having featured as a guest lecturer at Lousiana State University, Southern University, Harvard University and Berklee College of Music, Mazbou Q has established himself as both educator and practitioner of ‘rap science’.

Accompanied by a dynamic live band, Mazbou Q captures the imagination of everyone from artist, to instrumentalist to music enthusiast as he performs his creative and intricate discography on stage.
