Movies in the Park Waipu

Whangarei District Council and Promote Waipu proudly presents Movies in the Park Waipu!

Join us at the Waipu Primary School field for a fun free event suitable for the whole family. There will be plenty of entertainment, food trucks and a FREE movie screening of Disney's Brave (PG) on the big outdoor screen!

Bring along a picnic blanket or seating, find a spot on the grass and settle in for a relaxed evening of entertainment.

To celebrate Waipu’s unique heritage, Promote Waipu will have spot prizes for those that are dressed to impress in their best Scottish apparel. So bust out your best tartan for the occasion.

4pm - Gates open
4.30pm - Entertainment begins
6pm - Movies Brave (PG, 1h 33mins). English subtitles will be displayed.
7.30pm – Movie and event concludes

We will also have the team from local radio station Smooth FM onsite to MC the main stage.

Water is also available onsite so please feel free to bring along a water bottle to refill.


Event information:
This event is an alcohol, smoke and vape free event.
Parking for the event is available on the school field by donation to the Waipu Lions Club.
Public car parks in surrounding areas are also in walking distance to the event.
