Natural Textures Earrings and Pendants

A special class just for the summer holidays, this 3 hour class is held in our Ōtaki studio with jeweller Claire Mc Sweeney.

Claire's own work celebrates the native flora of Aotearoa, and she is a fantastic tutor - friendly and super patient!

You will begin using copper and brass to practice, then move on to work in sterling silver.  You'll learn to cut, heat and apply textures that mimic the textures of nature. Print feathers and dried grasses into your metal. Use hammers to create water and bark like patterns.

Choose your favourite technique and create a beautiful silver pendant or a pair of earrings that give you a lasting memory of your summer holiday.

Kids aged 12 (or so) are welcome to attend the class, but any person under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an enrolled parent or caregiver.
