Walking and place have been consistent themes in both Nell’s and McCahon’s art making, evident in Nell X Colin McCahon: Through the Wall of Birth and Death. Experience your own guided nature bathing walk, led by trained and certified nature therapy guide Linda Carson. Meet at The Dowse before embarking on a two-and-a-half-hour session, during which Linda will offer you a series of sensory invitations designed to help you slow down and immerse yourself in nature. To close the experience, we will share some light refreshments and you will have the opportunity to reflect and interact with other participants before taking in the exhibition.
Who is nature bathing suitable for? (Accessibility)
Nature bathing is a slow-paced activity that is suitable for people of any fitness level. It is more of a wander than a walk and you won't be covering a lot of distance.
What to wear and bring
Wear clothing that you feel comfortable in and flat shoes, such as sneakers or sandals. Bring a bottle of water, sunhat, sunscreen, wet weather gear and additional warm layers. You may wish to bring a small daypack or bag to carry these items in so that you can keep your hands free while exploring.
