Nz Baiyun Beijing Opera Society for World of Cultures

We are very excited to bring the drama and spectacle of Beijing Opera to Albany, listed in 2010 as intangible cultural Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO.

Beijing Opera is a performance art featuring striking face make up, masks, songs, acting, reciting, puppetry, dance and music using saxophone, violin, electric blowpipe and the bamboo flute.

NZ Baiyun Beijing Opera Society will perform authentic and original Chinese opera songs as well as more popular songs known around the world. Discover this classical Chinese art form and see the facial masks up close. Volunteers from the audience can have the opportunity to have make up applied.
