We are delighted to announce Passage Rock Wines with David Evans, Founder & Winemaker as the next “Big Name and Big-Hearted” winery to present to us at Wine Club Taupo this year. Passage Rock Wines was established in 1993 on the eastern end of Waiheke Island in the Hauraki Gulf of New Zealand. They produce over 14 varietals and have won awards across the globe for these. Their pride is crafting wines of distinction, recognising the strengths of each site and micro-climate to produce the best wine for the season from each grape variety. Their award winning wines are fruit driven, backed by quality winemaking and the use of fine grained oak barrels. After 26 years at Passage Rock, David & his team are proud to say that their Reserve Syrah is Waiheke Island’s most awarded wine with over 18 Gold Medals and 6 trophies.
