The band has a unique sound and improvisational style that is inspired by elements of Indian Music, Jazz and popular music. They perform a mix of jazz standards, Indian Classical tunes, original compositions based on Indian Ragas , songs by leading jazz and fusion musicians and also pop classics by the Beatles, Sting, Stevie Wonder, etc.
The band comprises of Ben Fernandez - piano, Manjit Singh – tabla and vocals Nick Taylor – Bass, Ron Samsom - drums, Andrew Hall - saxophone and Amrita Bhende D’Souza on vocals. All the musicians in the Band are well experienced and have performed at gigs and events all over the world. The RaagTime has performed at many events and festivals including Music in the Parks, the Auckland Art Gallery, World Masters Games, Auckland Diwali Festival, Asian Soundscapes Festival, Auckland Arts Festival and also in concert with some of the world's leading Indian musicians including Ustad Taufiq Qureshi, Ustad Fazal Qureshi (tabla), Purbayan Chatterjee (sitar) and Ustad Dilshad Khan (sarangi).
