A celebration of Robert Lord's legacy and the recent publication of The Robert Lord Diaries, edited by Chris Brickell, Vanessa Manhire and Nonnita Rees.

Lord wrote eight lively, candid and absorbing diaries, now published for the first time in Robert Lord Diaries. From 1974, when he first moved to New York, until his death in Dunedin in 1992, Lord recorded the highs and lows of his writing practice, the theatre world and his social life.

A reading of select diaries will be done with actor Ryan Carter supported by director Keagan Carr Fransch. This will be followed by a discussion between one of the book's editors, Chris Brickell, and playwright Nathan Joe.

Free to attend, no reservation required.

This event is part of the 2024 Auckland Pride Festival.
