The sika foundation is proud to facilitate the upcoming avian aversion training (whio and kiwi) events this january, in taupō and tūrangi! Discounted training and priority bookings apply if you sign up as a sika foundation member.
Whio and Kiwi aversion training is a tool which helps to reduce the threat dogs can pose to our precious native birds. With our Whio Recovery Project expanding and thriving in the Kaimanawa Forest Park, we have particular interest in this kaupapa.
As hunters, we share the landscapes whio and kiwi are in and play a key role in protecting these native species and their habitats. We are encouraging hunters and other park users to get on board with this by subsidising the cost of aversion training for our members from $36.00 to just $15.00 per dog!
Minimum Age: 4-month-old pups.
Max Participants: 40
Meeting Place: Tongariro National Trout Centre - Southern Service Entranceway
Cost: $36
Participants are asked to bring:
Microchip/tattoo information
