Taoka Pūoro with Dr Jennifer Cattermole

We are very excited to have Dr Jennifer Cattermole back this Matariki to talk about and play a variety of taoka puoro (traditional Māori instruments).

You'll learn about different types of instruments, their whakapapa, uses, and meanings. Jennifer will also show you how to play instruments crafted from things found in the natural environment.

Jennifer is a maker, educator, and experienced player of taoka puoro. She is one of Aotearoa's leading ethnomusicologists, and music fans young and old will love this fascinating Matariki talk!
