Amber Quartet was founded in 2005 at the Central Conservatory of Music, the Amber Quartet, who represents the highest level of chamber music in China, has created history of Chinese chamber music multiple times: the first Chinese chamber ensemble winning the highest award in an international chamber music competition, the first and only Chinese inheritor of the legendary Alban Berg Quartet, the first public-funded Chinese chamber ensemble entering the Instituto Internacional de Música de Cámara at the Escuela Superior de Musica Reina Sofia de Madrid and graduating with full credit, the first and only Chinese chamber ensemble invited by the renowned McGill International String Quartet Academy (MISQA), and the first professional string quartet listed in China National Art Foundation. As the most influential professional Chinese chamber ensemble, the Amber Quartet has received multiple awards, including the highest awards and the best interpretation of modern works in ASIA-PACIFIC Chamber Music Competition, the silver medal in Chinese Golden Bell Music Competition, and the Central Conservatory Chamber Music Competition. After the establishment, the Amber Quartet has had concert appearances internationally, leaving footsteps in concert halls throughout the United States, the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Spain, Denmark, Australia, Canada, Japan, Korea, and China.


Ning Fangliang is an outstanding violinist and chamber player in China today, who is widely active on the international stage and currently teaches at the Central Conservatory of Music. As the founder and first violin of Amber Quartet, Ning Fangliang achieved a historic breakthrough in Chinese classical music. In 2013, Amber Quartet won the highest award and twice individual awards in Melbourne Asia Pacific International Chamber Music Competition, became the first group of Chinese quartets to win the highest award in international chamber music competition.


Yajing Su, the Central Conservatory of Music graduate. Wufeng Zhou scholarship, Gucci scholarship winners. During the school served as chief of the China Youth Symphony Orchestra. Music Golden Bell Award for the Eighth China String Quartet won the Silver Award, the second session of the Central Conservatory of Music Chamber Music Competition in the first place, the First Violin Sonata Competition third of the Central Conservatory of Music, the Second the cctv Piano Violin Competition prize.


Qi Wang is an associate professor of the Central Conservatory of Music, Amber Quartet viola. doctor from Berlin University of Arts, Germany, master from Sofia Royal Chamber Music Institute, Madrid, Spain. former intern in Berlin Philharmonic and external member of Kuala Lumpur Philharmonic, who won China National Scholarship, Germany DAAD Scholarship, Spain Albaniz Scholarship, etc.


Yang Yichen has made remarkable achievements in the field of Chinese classical music as a cellist and chambert player. In 2005, he initiated the creation of Amber Quartet. In 2011, "Amber Quartet" won the Gold Award in Chamber Music Competition of the Central Conservatory of Music. In 2013, Amber Quartet won the "highest competition award" and two individual awards in the "Melbourne Asia Pacific International Chamber Music Competition" , realizing the "zero breakthrough" of the Chinese Quartet in major international chamber music competitions.
