Charles N Charge brings his unique kaupapa hip hop stage show to Dunedin for the first time. A regular on the circuit with performances at Nelson Fringe 2022 and NZ Fringe 2023, and a nomination for Best Stage Performance at Nelson Fringe Festival 2022, Charles N Charge is set to complete a trifecta of shows with Dunedin.


The Pre Conditioned Hori is a reflective stage show with a hip hop soundtrack. 'Everything has a whakapapa', and this show explores some of the discourses experienced from a personal standpoint using spoken word poetry, raps and interludes.

"I'm an '80s kid and - growing up in Hamilton then being thrust into a small town life in the South Island as a teen - was a polar opposite experience. I got to see some very different societal discources due to this."

This show is a retrospective bundle of experiences sewn into a weave of hip hop-influenced culture. Come and experience a sometimes raw yet real presentation of lyrical and poetic kōrero.
