Swedish singer-songwriter Lykke Li has announced that she will no longer be performing at Laneway Festival due to health reasons.
Billed as one of the headliners, the 'I Follow Rivers' singer said in a statement, “I'm incredibly sorry to announce that I’m no longer able to play in Australia, New Zealand and Singapore for Laneway Festival. It’s been a long time coming, but unfortunately tour life has caught up with me and it’s been recommended that I take a break. I’m devastated, but know I will return. Thank you for all the support, and I sincerely hope I can make it up to you at a later date."
Though the news will be a disappointment to some fans (and so close to the event) festival organisers have added three more names to the lineup, each performing exclusively at the Auckland leg of the international festival.
Indie-pop artist Ariel Pink has been added to the bill, alongside Baltimore electronica producer Dan Deacon and Danish punk group Iceage. Ariel Pink also performed at the 2011 Laneway Festival, while Dan Deacon performed at Camp A Low Hum in 2009.
The full Auckland Laneway lineup is:
