Shakey Graves announces one-off 2019 NZ date

American folk-rock artist Shakey Graves is owning the NZ spotlight once again, serenading fans with his intimate concert at Auckland’s Powerstation this April 2019.

Born Alejandro Rose-Garcia, Shakey Graves' smoky, spectral fusion of blues, folk and rock in a stripped down one-man-band style can be traced back to the fancy country rhythms of his hometown in Austin, Texas.

Shakey Graves often manifests his signature one-man country band, thanks to his traditionally rooted songs, fluent acoustic-guitar picking, Texas roots and all-too familiar cowboy hat. But his 'country boy' tag will undoubtedly be dismissed once discerning listeners hear his radical new album, 'Can't Wake Up'.

Back in December 2017, Shakey Graves proclaimed on his Twitter page, "Next album. New sound. Sell your suspenders." The singer has been implying a drastic shift on his music, pertaining to his newly released album 'Can't Wake Up'. This ambitious, audacious work heralds an artistic metamorphosis for the 31-year old veteran, whose risk-taking in painting outside the lines has been rewarded tenfold. "This record is the most I've ever intentionally worked on a project, musically speaking, in terms of the scope of it and how much thought went into it," he says. "It's a dense album; there's a lot of information going on."

Don't miss what'll be Shakey Graves' mind-blowing performance this April 2019!
