The Site

Pop-up Globe is located at The Shakespeare Gardens, Ellerslie Racecourse, 80 Ascot Ave, Remuera, Auckland, New Zealand.
The theatre is just inside the main entrance to Ellerslie Racecourse, adjacent to the Ellerslie Event Centre.  
A dedicated restaurant and bar is available in The Shakespeare Gardens for pre-show hospitality and opens at 6pm.

Getting here
Driving:
Ellerslie Racecourse is conveniently located off the Southern motorway at the Greenlane exit.
From the south once you exit the motorway turn right at the Greenlane Roundabout and take your third exit onto Greenlane East (towards Remuera).
From the north once you exit the motorway turn left at the Greenlane Roundabout and take your first exit onto Greenlane East (towards Remuera).
You will be turning right at the first set of lights so make your way to the inside lane as soon as you can.
At the first set of lights turn right and then take the third exit at the roundabout. At the next roundabout turn left and take the first exit.
Proceed down the drive towards Ellerslie Racecourse.
The entrance is well sign posted with directional signage.
There is ample on-site parking located just a short walk from the theatre, which is all free of charge.
Please park in the main public car parking area located before the turnstiles at the main entrance to Ellerslie Racecourse.  

Train:
The Greenlane train station (stop 113) is located a short walk from Ellerslie Racecourse. When you exit the station turn right and follow the path and signage. For further detailsdownload this map.

Bus:
Bus stops 1765 - Greenlane East, and 1718 - Ascot Avenue are both a short walk from Pop-up Globe.
There are many other bus stops close to Pop-up Globe which are served by a range of buses.

Disability Access:
Parking
The theatre is just inside the main entrance to Ellerslie Racecourse, adjacent to the Ellerslie Event Centre.
For those who have purchased wheelchair seating, please enter via Gate 7, located off Morrin Street. From there, follow the road around toward Ellerslie Stand where we have 2 mobility parking spaces alongside the loading bay on the right.
For those who have not purchased our wheelchair seating but have concerns regarding mobility, please enter via the main entrance at Gate 3, located off Ascot Avenue.  In the main car park we have a number of additional mobility parking spaces just a short walk from the Pop-up Globe entrance.
There will be pedestrians on site so please ensure you drive slowly when making your way to your parking space.

Bathrooms

There are 2 bathrooms located on Level 1 of Ellerslie Stand, accessible by elevator.  There are 2 additional bathrooms in the Winning Post bar in Ascot Stand. These are clearly marked with Pop-up Globe signs.

 

Level Access
Level access is located opposite Ellerslie Stand. From this entrance there is a level walkway through the site to the theatre.

Level access to the Playhouse is via a ramp through the North facing Lower gallery entrance which leads directly into the Yard.  There is a second ramp up to the wheelchair section which is located in the front row of D reserve seating as per your tickets.
