a-ha – Hunting High and Low Tour
Norwegian pop trio a-ha are making their way to New Zealand for the first time ever this March 2020. Featuring their highly-acclaimed debut album 'Hunting High And Low', the group are set to play a one-off concert in Christchurch followed by a special 'A Day On the Green' performance in Auckland. Joining them at all their shows is renowned '80s hitmaker, Rick Astley. Meanwhile, playing alongside their 'A Day On The Green' slot are Auckland-based indie-pop band, The Beths. Before their NZ debut, they will first stop by Australia for shows in Melbourne and Sydney as well as 'A Day On The Green' performances in Perth, Yarra Valley, Hunter Valley and Brisbane.
Having dominated global pop charts in the '80s, a-ha (whose members are Morten Harket, Mags Furuholmen and Paul Waaktaar-Savoy) are back onstage to celebrate the 35th anniversary of their hugely influential album 'Hunting High And Low'. They will be performing the album in full as well as other favourites from across their 30+ year career. Selling more than 11 million copies worldwide, the album includes the unforgettable 'Take On Me' and other follow-up hits 'The Sun Always Shines On TV', 'The Blue Sky', 'Train Of Thought' and the title track.
"...we can't wait to play in New Zealand for the first time—we'll be comparing your fjords with our Norwegian ones!" - Paul Waaktaar-Savoy
Since their debut, a-ha have sold more than 55 million albums and remain one of the UK and Europe's most-loved pop bands—regularly playing stadiums and festivals. They have also scored global hits with the 'James Bond' theme 'The Living Daylights' and other chart-topping tracks 'Cry Wolf', 'I've Been Losing You' as well as the 2005 Max Martin-collaboration album 'Analogue'. Their most recent release was an MTV Unplugged collection in 2017, featuring collaborations with Echo & The Bunnymen's Ian McCulloch and Alison Moyet. Still so unique decades on, their unforgettable music video for 'Take On Me' has won six MTV Awards, seven Billboard Music Awards, and has been nominated for Grammy and American Music Awards.
Watch out for tickets and don't miss a-ha perform two poptastic summer concerts next year!
