Interested in trying out croquet? Come along and try out your hoop running skills assisted by our friendly club members and then discuss your game over a cup of tea or coffee in our clubhouse, which was built in the 1920's.

Our introductory offer is two free sessions followed by four sessions for $30 with mallets provided.

Contact us through the website or text us to arrange a time to come along, either on a club day, or another time as mutually arranged. Dress code - dress for the conditions and wear flat-soled footwear such as trainers. Bare feet are fine - just watch those speeding croquet balls.

The main session times for the more popular form of croquet, Golf Croquet, are listed below. As well, over the daylight saving period, some club members play in a friendly doubles competition on Mondays at 5.30 pm followed by a social hour. We also have three weekly sessions for the traditional Association Croquet. In addition to the club days members can arrange games or come along and practice at other times.

Golf croquet is played as either singles (2 people per game each playing two balls) or doubles (4 people per game each playing one ball). You have one shot per turn, and the four balls (blue, red, black and yellow) are played in that order. There is a coloured stick in the middle of the lawn which shows you the sequence. There is only one point per hoop so the first ball through the hoop scores the point for that hoop.

Our summer season is from September to April. We don't have a break over the Christmas period, apart from the statutory holidays, but our club days will be a little quieter over December-January.

We are at Kelburn Park, between the University and the Cable Car. Our carpark is on Salamanca Road, just before Kelburn Parade.
The cable car stop is University/Salamanca. More information about us on our website.
