Hollie Smith continues to tour across New Zealand and will be visiting some cities she hasn't performed in for a while. You can catch her in Leigh on 11 May, Dunedin on 16 May, in Christchurch on 17 May, or see her at her upcoming show in Auckland on Friday, 30 May at SkyCity Theatre.
Hollie's huge hit album, Long Player, exploded in New Zealand last year and at the 2007 Vodafone New Zealand Music Awards, Smith snagged Best Female Solo Artist, Breakthrough Artist of the Year, Best Aotearoa Roots Album and Best Producer.
Long Player also woke up the American music business when she was signed to Manhattan Records, a division of Blue Note in New York. Hollie went into the studio in the states to work on new versions of three songs with producer James Poyser (Erykah Badu, Jill Scott, Lauryn Hill). She recorded with Poyser in Philadelphia in September, 2007 on three tracks (Miracles, Walk Away and New Dawn) for the US release of Long Player. The recently released Special Edition version of Long Player includes those three new versions as bonus tracks.
