A Taste of The Showgirl Life: CANCELLED

EmJay Lacy studied performing arts at ED5 International in Sydney Australia. During her stage career, spanning over 25 years she has studied Classical Ballet, American Jazz, contemporary, lyrical Jazz, commercial Jazz, Hip Hop, Tap and Musical theatre.

Other Dance genres EmJay has studied are cabaret, pole and lyra, as well as burlesque. EmJay has worked with world class choreographers and has had the honour of learning from some of the best in the business and she is eager and passionate about sharing this knowledge with her students.

EmJay draws on all of these disciplines to create her performance art and has designed this workshop for both the trained dancer and complete beginner.

This 1.5 hour workshop involves:
- Working lines and angles
- Travelling floor progressions
- Exploring musicality
- Experimenting with levels and space
- Adapting acts to stages of all sizes
- Stagecraft and presence
- Transitions from standing to the floor
- Working with props
- Adding dance to your performance for the non-trained dancer

EmJays passion for dance and performance is infectious and she is so excited to share with you all of the tricks of the trade that she has learned along her journey.

No previous experience necessary – bring active wear or clothes you can move in, socks or flat shoes and a drink. Video is welcome, notes will be given so no need to write anything down.
