“No more secrets. No more lies.”

aloFA is set in present–day Samoa and is about the Su’eloto family (‘Su’e‘ meaning to search/find, ‘loto‘ meaning heart.)

Niko, eldest son of Faleniko Su’eloto, returns home after 25 years away and is immediately confronted with consequences of his long absence by his Papa and family. Too many secrets, too many lies, but it all comes back to the deceased matriarch of the family – Alofa – and her indomitable heart whose spirit and healing continually pulls the family back together.

Written by Fiona Collins (Vai), aloFA is a tells a complicated and heart-wrenching, but hauntingly recognizable story as these familiar characters use humour and light to navigate their way through the events, emotions and epic aftermath of the night that tore their family apart.

“Beautiful use of humour in what could have been a bleak message… if dramas should be thought provoking and cause the audience to examine their own relationships involving all spectrums of love, then this play does that superbly.” – Marjorie Moore, Samoan Observer and Apia International School

“Alofa bares life in all its realism and naivety in any setting/context;Samoan, absolutely. Brilliant play in all respects!” – Ruperake Petaia, Poet, Samoa

Cast: Uelese Petaia, Ali Foa’i, Iaheto Ah Hi, and Atutahi Potaka-Dewes

Written by Fiona Collins.
Play is 90 minutes (including interval).
