Kris Faafoi also holds the portfolios of Civil Defence; Broadcasting, Communications, & Digital Media; and Customs. He is also the Associate Immigration Minister.
Kris will touch on a wide range of topics that concern the business community from an update on the ultra-fast broadband network, to resilience-building efforts in preparation for natural disasters, and his work with Customs to ensure our exporters are well supported.
He’ll then focus on the commitments he has made to ensure that honest business thrives and consumers get a fair deal. Currently, Kris is considering feedback on protections against unfair business practices; consulting on competition laws within the Commerce Act; and plans to stop the practice of ticket scalping at major events.
Minister Faafoi is one of the rising stars within the Labour-led Government. Having been elected as the Member of Parliament for Mana in 2010, he is the first MP of Tokelauan decent and currently sits at number 20 on the Labour party list. Before entering politics, Kris worked as a journalist for more than a decade.
