Bioblitz Guided Walk: Titiwai – New Zealand’s Glow Worm

Titiwai, glow worms, are only found in New Zealand. Titiwai is the larva of a fungus gnat, found all over New Zealand on vertical, moist, sheltered banks, and they attract insects to a sticky net they make by shining a bright white light out of their tail. Individually, they are fascinating; en masse, they can be spectacular. Come and see them in action.
