Take your cartooning skills to the next level and learn how to develop characters as well as construct a story line in a framed sequence.
Note: Courses need a minimum number to go ahead so if we don't have enough enrolments a few days before the start date, we have to cancel. We'll let you know by email so please check yours regularly.
You’ll be able to demonstrate a cartoon style and characters that are consistent and recognisable. There’ll also be a development of story line from a constructed back story and a graphic display of composition expressed in sequencing of frames over a strip or page. You’ll also increase your knowledge of copying, ink overlays and colour usage.
Please note that the course will require good preparation and work at home to achieve a satisfactory result.
By the end of the course, you’ll be able to:
- Draw cartoon characters in a style that is consistent
- Design a story board and set up a framed page that shows flow and sequence
- Complete an inked cartoon that demonstrates a completed story line and is ready for display or publication
Bring ideas for a story line and character(s) plus a pencil, eraser, ruler, craft knife and A3 paper.
