NCMA’s inaugural classical and flamenco guitar festival takes place at the recently re-opened Nelson Centre of Musical Arts state of the art facilities from Sunday 13th – Saturday 19th January 2019.

Each evening (from the 14th – 19th January) there will be a concert from the tutors including a special flamenco concert. The final concert on Saturday 19th January will feature the ensemble groups and the combined guitar orchestra.

English guitarist Vincent Lindsey-Clark is well known for his compositions for the instrument. He writes music for both students and professionals, much of which, has been used extensively by the major exam boards and performed all round the world. He has also written two guitar concertos and gave the first performance of both works himself.

Vincent will play works by Dowland, Albeniz, Turina, Leo Brouwer and a selection of his own remarkable compositions including Whenua o te manu especially commissioned by John Couch for the 2018 Taranaki Guitar Festival.
